Private Yoga Sessions

Lotus Therapeutic Restorative Yoga - Private Sessions by Appointment, with Evelyn Lisojo

Lotus Restorative Yoga begins with a dialogue of the students intentions and clearly setting personal healing goals.  The session then offers opportunities to open and strengthen the body with specific asanas (exercises), breathing practices, visualizations, chants and meditation recommended based on the individual needs and goals.  It is a gentler form of yoga that therapeutically releases deep held unconscious tension in the tissue of the body creating an invitation to receive the breath and life force for greater ease.  The gentle practice can also inform the client of unconscious wisdom held with in the body, mind and psyche.  These awarenesses can then be expressed for greater rooting of clarity and deepen conscious change of limiting life patterns. This practice can reset our central nervous system to a place of greater harmony.  Gentle hands on body stretches and adjustments may be used during our time. The session is then supported by Reiki mini sessions. Please know that releases can arise both in the form of comfort and discomfort.  The body/mind and spirit connection can be a very deeply embodied experience, learning and transformational process. We will be using props to hold Yoga poses such as blocks, blankets, bolsters and straps.

Reiki Sessions

Rei-ki is a Japanese spiritual and energetic healing practice. It is meditative practice believed to be a transferring of universal life force that helps the receiver and practitioner bring a state of higher awareness and health to the body as well as mind.  The word Reiki is derived from the two words “rei” meaning spirit and “ki” vital energy or breath of life.  Reiki energy and healing was experienced in 1922 and developed by Dr. Mikao Usui during a Buddhist retreat and 21 day fasting period on Mt. Kurama while in Buddhist training.  He then began to heal and initiate others into the practice.  Reiki is not a substitute for medical services but can be a helpful adjunct to medical treatments.  Currently the practice is used in hospitals and medical clinical settings as complimentary medicine. One of the greater benefits of Reiki is that it can induct the rest and digest aspect of the autonomic central nervous system, known as the para-sympathetic system.  In this state clients can receive tremendous immune support, greater circulatory, respiratory, digestive function, deeper insight to emotional blockages or simply to relieve chronic stress. Consistent sessions can allow recipients a deeper process of where healthier wellness changes can be made. Spiritually a deeper connection to higher intelligence and spiritual support may be experienced.  Please discuss with your practitioner the amount of sessions recommended based on needs and your intentions.

Restorative Yoga
